  1. A fine portrait - pity the lower picture, good in its own right, detracts from the impact. And conversely.

  2. The people are amazing, I love the little slice of the every day.

That skate looks so forlorn and forgotten, a once loved treasure now cast aside for fancier toys.

  3. Nice captures. The skate looks like it's seen better days.

  5. Love the top shot; was it a 'candid' or did he pose for you?

  6. That's my husband. He was not posing in particular, he was just sitting there sort of glumly and I grabbed my camera.

  7. Wow Mary. These are both wonderful images. I love the way you've captured the essence of the man in the top image. Your portrait is a graphic demonstration of the power of B&W and the vision of the photographer.

  9. Great portrait shot of your hubby. And the bottom photo? Somehow coupled with the top? It's a goody, too.

  10. I didn't actually MEAN for the two to be coupled--I'll be more careful int he future. I just thought of it as two separtate pix.

    THANKS!

  11. These are both superb photos. The skates belong to another era and it looks like they've been there since they were in vogue...now it's roller blades...

The gentleman appears to be deep in thought ... probably wondering if he'll look as handsome in the photo as he is in real life!

  12. Figured you meant it as two separate pics. No need to be more careful unless he's urging you to be...
