The Photography of Mary Stebbins Taitt. Currently an Experimental "testing Blog" for changing the html for displaying photos in a larger size. If I get it working right, I will display more photos here.
A fine portrait - pity the lower picture, good in its own right, detracts from the impact. And conversely.
ReplyDeleteThe people are amazing, I love the little slice of the every day.
ReplyDeleteThat skate looks so forlorn and forgotten, a once loved treasure now cast aside for fancier toys.

Nice captures. The skate looks like it's seen better days.
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much! I appreciate your visit and kind words.
ReplyDeleteLove the top shot; was it a 'candid' or did he pose for you?
ReplyDeleteThat's my husband. He was not posing in particular, he was just sitting there sort of glumly and I grabbed my camera.
ReplyDeleteWow Mary. These are both wonderful images. I love the way you've captured the essence of the man in the top image. Your portrait is a graphic demonstration of the power of B&W and the vision of the photographer.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Aware Writer. I do so love B&Ws! :-D
ReplyDeleteGreat portrait shot of your hubby. And the bottom photo? Somehow coupled with the top? It's a goody, too.
ReplyDeleteI didn't actually MEAN for the two to be coupled--I'll be more careful int he future. I just thought of it as two separtate pix.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS!
Great capture!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots.
Thank you Sishir! :-D
ReplyDeleteThese are both superb photos. The skates belong to another era and it looks like they've been there since they were in vogue...now it's roller blades...
ReplyDeleteThe gentleman appears to be deep in thought ... probably wondering if he'll look as handsome in the photo as he is in real life!
LOL! You always make me smile, Jacob!
ReplyDeleteFigured you meant it as two separate pics. No need to be more careful unless he's urging you to be...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michael! :-D
